What: Spring Masters Training

FEPPP is pleased to announce our upcoming Master’s financial education training for educators teaching grades 6-12. This training is a fun and informative advanced level professional development opportunity. Participants will receive materials (at no charge) which can be incorporated into classrooms. This information will prepare students and potentially their families with vital skills for life.
Participants will hear from financial education experts, mentor educators, partners from the Federal Reserve of San Francisco; OSPI and FDIC. We will also be honored by a Keynote presentation from Washington State Treasure, Mike Pellicciotti.
We are confident this will transform teaching and student learning. This training at no charge to you, thanks to the generous partnership and contribution of Department of Financial Institutions, who recognize the importance of bringing personal finance to our students.

Clock Hours will be provided for educators attending minimum of 1 hour of training. Attend both days and receive a complimentary thumb drive of Financial Fitness For Life materials valued at $169 and clock hours.

 The Financial Education Public-Private Partnership (FEPPP) is launching a multi-year grant program to support professional development (PD) for financial education in Washington. Districts will be invited this Spring to apply for funding for next school year.
FEPPP wants your input to better understand the financial education landscape in Washington so that we can shape the grant program to best meet students’, teachers’, and districts’ needs and strengthen our partnerships and relationships to guide future strategy and efforts!
Please take this 8-10 minute survey to provide your input on these critical questions. The survey will be open through March 27.

 On behalf of the Jump$tart Coalition of Washington, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, Financial Education Public-Private Partnership, and The Office of the State Treasurer are partnering to bring you 2023 WA Financial Education Reading Days in Washington - where a community leader reads a pre-selected book with a financial education focus to an elementary school classroom and engages students in a discussion and/or exercise relating financial education topics to everyday life (budgeting, saving, investing, etc.).

Join OSPI-WSAC staff and our knowledgeable presenters from Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, Clover Park Technical College, and the Washington State Achievement Council. We’ll be learning about pathways to access apprenticeship program opportunities in Washington, how students interested in apprenticeships can be supported in their path, how CTCs are playing a role in apprenticeship access, and bust some common myths about apprenticeships along the way. WSAC will also be sharing information about financial resources available to students who are interested in pursuing apprenticeships.

Workshop C: “Financial Wellness 101 – Part C: Consumer Cautions”:
Learn the steps towards financial wellness. This workshop will involve such topics as budgeting conversations with partners and/or family, comparing employment packages, and identity theft prevention & awareness. Bring your questions and get ready to put the information into practice.
