Paraeducator listening session happening March 29

We’re excited to announce a virtual paraeducator listening session on March 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. This event is an opportunity for our Paraeducator Board members to hear directly from paraeducators about their roles throughout the pandemic, and their experience receiving training on the Fundamental Course of Study and General Paraeducator Certificate. Washington paraeducators who are interested in sharing their story, or listening to the stories of others, are encouraged to attend.

To allow for more casual conversation, we will use Zoom’s breakout rooms to randomly assign paraeducators into small groups with at least one Board member and one PESB staff member.

Event agenda

  • Discussion between paraeducators and board members:
    • Reflections on paraeducator training
    • The impact of the pandemic on the role of paraeducators

Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis, as the meeting has a limit of 300 attendees. You must register to attend the event. Please review the community agreement, rules, and guiding questions ahead of the meeting.

Request accommodations

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to fully engage and participate. If you have a disability and require special accommodations or assistance, please email us at pesb@k12.wa.us and one of our staff members will reach out to you. Requests should be made as soon as possible but at least five business days prior to the scheduled event, meeting, or webinar.
