We hope the new year is starting out as smoothly as possible for your school.
Below you’ll find information about upcoming State Board of Education deadlines and processes:
We've also included some additional resources from the Department of Health:
2022 - 2023 Approval Application
Applications for approval for the 2022-2023 school year will be accepted from March 1 through April 16, 2022.
- New schools and renewing schools will use separate online applications.
- Schools with multiple campuses and building codes must submit a separate application for each campus. If you applied for all campuses with one application last year, please contact Nicole Mulhausen for login credentials for your additional campuses.
Check our website for additional information about the approval process and for links to the applications, which will be available in late February.
NOTE: In an effort to streamline the application process, we have created a partially pre-filled application which requires a login, and your username is your Head of School email address. If your Head of School has changed since you submitted your 2021-2022 application, please see below.
Change of Information
Please use the Private School Change of Information Form to notify the State Board of Education of changes at your school regarding the school’s physical address, your Head of School, or contact information for the school.
-
Username: To log in, you will use the email address of your Head of School submitted on your 2021-2022 approval application.
-
Password: Your school's Building Code.
Waivers
SBE emergency waiver rules (WAC 180-111-060) for the 2021-2022 school year:
- Permits private schools to waive credit-based graduation requirements for individual students who have had their education disrupted by the pandemic so that these students may graduate in 2022.
- Permits an online education program to meet instructional hour requirements.
- Will maintain a school’s approval status if, due to the pandemic, the school is unable to fulfill the hours or days of instruction requirement.
If a school wishes to implement any of these, the schools must notify the SBE. The SBE will have an online notification form available this spring.
