You’re invited to attend a virtual “share fair” on implementing the paraeducator certificate program
Beginning school year 2021-22, districts must now provide 14 hours of training towards the general certificate to all paraeducators that have completed their Fundamental Course of Study (FCS). We would like to provide district staff with an opportunity to convene in small, virtual “share fairs” to listen and learn from one another about their implementation efforts.
We held share fairs in June and December 2020, and attendees found them extremely helpful. Share fairs are an opportunity for collaboration, sharing resources, and discussing collaborative approaches to providing training. These discussions are facilitated by PESB staff but are district-led.
Who should attend?
We welcome all district leaders responsible for implementing the certificate program training.
How long will each share fair last?
We expect each share fair to last an hour and a half.
What can I expect to share and learn?
- How will you provide this year's training requirements?
- How will you communicate requirements to your paraeducators?
- What challenges do you anticipate in implementation?
- How are you tracking training completion?
When will the share fairs be held?
We will organize the share fairs by district size to learn from others with similar challenges and paraeducator workforce. Register for the event based on the size of your paraeducator workforce.
