Washington Teachers Win State Awards and National Nominations
Mr. Bradley Liebrecht of West Valley Junior High School in Yakima and Mrs. Jill Berge of Lake Washington High School in Kirkland were named the 2021 Washington History Day Teachers of the Year on Saturday, May 1, 2021 as part of a virtual awards ceremony for the Washington History Day State Contest. Liebrecht and Berge will also serve as Washington’s nominees for the national Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year Award, administered by the National History Day program. 2020-21 Assessment Reporting Requirements for Social Studies
Action Required: Due June 30, 2021
For the 2020–21 school year, school districts are required to report assessment information for the Arts, Educational Technology, Health and Physical Education, and Social Studies. For more information, visit the OSPI reporting website or the Social Studies reporting web page.

Swinomish Indian Tribe shares cherished Boldt family donation with Washington State Historical Society
Tacoma, Wash – On April 6, 2021, a judicial robe worn by Judge George H. Boldt was donated to the Washington State Historical Society through the generosity of the Boldt family and the Swinomish Tribal Archives.
