WEBINAR TO SHARE UPDATES, ANSWER QUESTIONS ON THE PARAEDUCATOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

Communities all across the state are currently experiencing unprecedented challenges in the education system due to the outbreak of COVID-19. During this time of uncertainty and concern, we would like to provide guidance and clarity on the Paraeducator Certificate Program.

We will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday, March 31 at 10 a.m. to present on the following:

  • An update on the paraeducator funding;
  • Requirements for the 2020-21 school year;
  • In-person training requirements;
  • COVID-19 updates; and
  • Online learning.

Register online to attend. For those unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and posted to our YouTube account.

Is the in-person training requirement being waived?

No. Seven of the 28 hours of FCS training must be conducted in person. The remaining 21 hours of FCS training can, if the district chooses, be completed online.

In-person training is defined as all participants physically being in the same room, at the same time. Districts are not receiving a waiver for in-person training. While still a requirement, the training does not need to be met until the end of the 2020-21 school year. We will discuss training requirements in greater detail during the webinar.
