PESB COMMUNITY FORUMS IN SEATTLE CANCELED

As communities within our state prepare for and respond to a coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and with new event guidance from the Governor’s Office, the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) is canceling the strategic planning community engagement forums scheduled to take place in Seattle on March 18-19. While we understand this is a last minute change, we believe it is in the best interest of public safety to limit large group gatherings until further notice.

Will the Seattle forums be rescheduled?

Our staff are working diligently to identify opportunities to host a future forum in the western region of the state. As details of a new forum are finalized, we will be sure to notify you.

Can I still engage in PESB’s strategic plan?

Forums

  • We are still planning to convene two forum events in Richland on May 20-21. Forum registration and logistics information can be found on our website

Survey

  • Take our online public survey to provide feedback on the strategic plan’s draft components, and guide future policy work as it relates to the educator career continuum. The survey should take about 7-10 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential and will be presented anonymously and in aggregate. Please complete the survey by Monday, June 1, 2020. Take the survey.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and will publish any additional changes or guidance as new developments occur. As always, we appreciate your patience, partnership, and support.
