Help us
make data-informed decisions for all Washington students - we need
representation from schools all over Washington (small and large, rural and
urban!)
As a part of this
team, you will:
-Provide school and district
perspective on prioritizing research and policy questions, -Collaborate on documents
detailing information and technical capacity school districts and the
state need in order to meet the Legislature’s reporting expectations, -Analyze gaps in the current education
data system, -Refine the operating rules and
governance structure for K-12 data collections including:

Privacy and confidentiality

Setting
data collection priorities
-
Defining
and updating a standard data dictionary

Ensuring
data compliance with the data dictionary
-
Ensuring
data accuracy
-
Establishing
minimum standards for school student, financial, and teacher
data systems.

Membership terms:
Membership is for two years or at the
request of the member, can be extended longer. Meetings are quarterly (Zoom,
online option AND in-person option) and will take approximately three to
four hours.
The 2009 legislation
established the members of the K-12 Data Governance Group to include
representatives of the:
- Education and Research Data
Center (ERDC)
- Legislative Evaluation and
Accountability Program (LEAP) Committee
- OSPI, Professional Educator
Standards Board (PESB), & State Board of Education (SBE)

School district staff,
including IT staff
- Additional entities with
expertise in education
