Program Re-Approval Report Follow Up

The new program re-approval cycle, and associated preliminary district spreadsheet, has been emailed to all districts. If you have not yet received your district’s spreadsheet, please email Becky Wallace. Last Friday, OSPI held a conference call, with WACTA area leaders, to communicate program re-approval report and system changes. Our goal is that WACTA area leaders share this information within networks across the state. Updates to consider include:

Courses were originally set to pull Jan. 1 of each scheduled year from the course approval system. We have now amended the pull of courses to cover Oct. 1, and forward, of the scheduled program. The program re-approval application will now capture the courses that were submitted 3 months early to the originally scheduled due date. Due to this change, each district will be provided an updated report. Courses that do not fall within this range will still require submission in the course approval system.
OSPI is offering a Zoom based conference call on Monday, Nov. 6th at 2:30 PM. If there is interest, we will offer additional calls, and professional development, around program re-approval, by area, across the state.
OSPI staff, and Executive Director Becky Wallace, will be available at the WA-ACTE Fall Summit, on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, to answer any questions, related to program re-approval, for registered attendees.
The course approval system will need to be adjusted to remove the validation requirements pertaining to uploads. This work order is in the pipeline for I.T, so please hold off on submitting any course approvals, in response to the program re-approval report, that qualify for an amended course approval process, per linked resource documents. The course approval system can continue to be accessed for any new courses.
Amended reports will be sent to school districts to reflect changes once they become available.
