Call for Subcommittee Members to Review Paraeducator Modules

The Paraeducator Board is accepting members to participate in a new subcommittee created by the Paraeducator Board.

The goal of the subcommittee is to review modules that have been designed to educate paraeducators on the recently passed Paraeducator Standards of Practice (legislation HB 1115). These modules, titled “Paraeducators: What We do Matters” (link to promotional video of modules), were created under the supervision of OSPI, and contracted to Education Northwest for development.

Details regarding the subcommittee meeting follow:

Attendance: The meeting will be accessible in-person and by webinar

After the meeting, subcommittee reviews will be synthesized into a report and presented, by Paraeducator Board staff, during the Paraeducator Board’s November 15th meeting in Vancouver, WA.

Individuals interested in joining the subcommittee do so on a voluntary basis and must commit to a full day of review and discussion. Expenses will not be covered for members of the subcommittee by the Paraeducator Board.
