Now that state agencies and educational institutions have closed their books for the previous fiscal year, the time has arrived to report our annual spend. OMWBE is sending out instructions for FY 2024 reporting to the following organizations:
This reporting cycle will set a new milestone for Supplier Diversity in Washington state contracting, procurement, and public works. Last year, we set aspirational spending goals for state agencies, for the first time in over 25 years. We are ready to collect and analyze last year's data, to determine which organizations met their business diversity spending goals and which need additional support.

Did you know that OMWBE launched a new certification program for small businesses engaged in public works contracting?
Public Works Small Business Enterprise (PWSBE) certified businesses can join the Statewide Small Works Roster with MRSC Rosters free of charge. This centralized system simplifies the process for public agencies seeking qualified contractors for small works projects under $350,000.

Washington's Regional Contracting Forum is celebrating 21 years of collaboration and leadership among the Puget Sound Region government entities.
This forum is an opportunity for small businesses, minority, women, disadvantaged and veteran-owned businesses to meet purchasers at all levels of state and local government, including school districts, transportation agencies, Tribal governments and other organizations.

This year marks the 28th annual BizFair, the longest running all government and nonprofit-run small business fair in Washington state. BizFair is free to attend and open to everyone.
This year there will be 3 individual events:
Spokane When: Saturday September 14, 2024 Where: The Hive (Spokane Public Library venue)
Puyallup When: Saturday September 21, 2024 Where: Pierce College

DES is hosting the first-ever Washington Procurement Connect (WPC), an all-day conference designed to help connect Washington small, minority, women, and certified veteran businesses with procurement professionals and government purchasers.
