2022 Regional Contracting Forum
This FREE in-person event is taking place September 21st, 2022 at Muckleshoot Casino Resort. Regional Contracting Forum attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Network and meet government and regional contracting representatives in the areas of contracting, architecture and engineering, and procurement
- Learn about doing business with the government
- Get information regarding upcoming contracting opportunities
- Ask questions and leave contact information with agencies for future conversations
- Receive information regarding mega projects in the regions
- Sign up for one-on-one interviews with representatives from local government, state agencies, county jurisdictions and prime job contractors
- Receive assistance and information from business resource organizations that will help grow your businesses
Minority, Women, and Veteran business owners are encouraged to attend.

Each fall, the small business ecosystem in WA comes together to put on BizFair, the longest running all government and non-profit run free small business fair in Washington state.
BizFair 2022 will be a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual attendees having the same event experience. NO COST TO ATTEND – Registration is open!

Join Seattle Public Utilities and King County for a FREE 3-day hybrid orientation, where you will learn the requirements to install rebate-eligible cisterns and/or rain gardens on private property. Over 55,000 homes in Seattle are eligible for a RainWise rebate to install cisterns and/or rain gardens. Attendance at all 3 days is a required prerequisite for all who wish to qualify to perform RainWise installations.

On the third Thursday of the month, the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES) facilitates an interactive conversation with state procurement professionals who can provide information and insight on how to do business with the state.
Join them for this virtual event where they will discuss a variety of topics, including:
- Introduction to state contracting
- How to find upcoming contracting opportunities
- Where to get technical assistance
- Where to find additional training
And, of course, provide time and opportunity for questions and answers.

Meet OMWBE's new director, Lekha Fernandes! Lekha joins us from the Employment Security Department, where she was the Southwest coastal regional director. She led oversight of the agency and WorkSource programs. Prior to her time at ESD, Fernandes owned and operated a business managing workforce development grants as a subcontractor to the state of Michigan. Hispanic Heritage Month takes place September 15 to October 15 every year as a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community. This month also celebrates the independence days of several Latin American countries, including: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua on September 15th, Mexico on September 16th, and Chile on September 18th. It also includes holidays that recognize Hispanic contributions such as Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship Day that is celebrated in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
