Please follow all pedestrian and traffic control.

There will be lane shifts and closures. Interurban trail at 33rd Ave W and Alderwood Mall Blvd will shift to a protected lane during construction.


Construction on the Poplar Way Bridge Project is on-time and going as planned.

The construction team is restriping lanes and placing barriers for traffic alignment. They have begun the cleaning and grubbing processes, pothole filling and asphalt removal. All construction traffic signs are in place for Phase 1 work.

Week Ending April 17, 2026

  • Installing barriers:

    • Along the north bound I-5 on ramp from Poplar Way for Pier 1 construction work zone.

    • Along Alderwood Mall Blvd and the south bound I-5 off ramp for Pier 5 construction work zone.
  • Restriping 196th St SW to aligning traffic flow for construction activities.

Week Ending April 24, 2026

  • The Interurban Trail in the project area will have a reroute to allow for concrete removal along Alderwood Mall Blvd.
  • A temporary bus stop will be installed by Wednesday, April 22nd on Alderwood Mall Blvd.
