Upcoming Street Closures

  • Street closures at 40th Ave W, 44th Ave W, and 48th Ave W at 196th St SW are expected throughout the summer to perform work activities. These closures are expected to be at nighttime.
    • Dates for closures will be shared in the coming weeks.

Ongoing Planned Power Shutoffs

  • Ongoing planned electricity shutoffs
    • Crews are continuing to conduct planned power outages near the project corridor. These temporary power outages are needed to connect businesses, residences, and other properties to the newly upgraded electrical utilities near 196th St SW. This work will continue through August.
    • These temporary shutoffs are required for crews to safely complete this work. Some of this work may occur at night or early mornings.
    • Affected businesses and residents will be notified in advance with a doorhanger or letter. If you receive a doorhanger or letter and you have any questions about this work, please reach out to us.

We understand that the 196th St Improvement Project is impactful on the surrounding neighbors and traffic. Major roadway work for this project is expected to be finished in late 2023.

This schedule may change depending on weather conditions or availability of materials.

We thank you for your patience during construction. Our crews are working to complete upgrades as efficiently and effectively as possible. We will continue shifting travel lanes around work zones to allow us to maintain the safety of the crews and traveling public.

Please follow all pedestrian and traffic control.
