An electrical vault for underground utilities is being placed on the south side of 196th St SW, just east of 40th Ave W
Upcoming Traffic Impacts
We understand that the 196th St Improvement Project has been impactful on the surrounding neighbors and traffic. Major roadway work for this project is expected to be finished in late 2023.
This schedule may change depending on weather conditions or availability of materials (concrete) for the street repaving planned for this summer.
We thank you for your patience during construction. Our crews are working to complete upgrades as efficiently and effectively as possible. We will continue shifting travel lanes around work zones to allow us to maintain the safety of the crews and traveling public.
Please follow all pedestrian and traffic control.
Ongoing Daytime and Intermittent Nighttime Work
We greatly appreciate your patience with intermittent nighttime work throughout this project’s construction.
Crews have been making great progress on water main installations at night and many of the required water utility upgrades have been completed. This major milestone means that less frequent night work events will be required for the remainder of construction. Throughout this spring and summer, you can expect short-term night work for paving and electrical utility upgrades. Typical work hours for the intermittent nighttime work are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Weeks of May 23, 2022 and May 30, 2022
48th Ave W to 36th Ave W
