South Lynnwood Park Renovation Set to Begin

Construction Notice: Park Closure anticipated April 30th

LYNNWOOD, WA (April 21, 2021) - The City of Lynnwood and its contractor, Premier Field Development, set to begin renovating South Lynnwood Park.

Renovations include:

  • Playground expansion and new play equipment
  • Relocating the basketball court
  • Resurfacing the tennis/multi-sport court
  • New artificial turf soccer field
  • Improving the drainage of the grass lawn and natural areas
  • A new picnic shelter and seating

Construction activities are anticipated to begin late April and anticipated to be complete by December 31, 2021. The entire park will be fenced and closed during construction. The restroom and access to the Interurban Trail will be closed.

South Lynnwood Park is a 4.2-acre neighborhood park. Developed in 1978, this park has many amenities which are beyond their useful life. This project will provide accessible and close-to-home recreation opportunities for South Lynnwood. Funding for this project comes from local funds and the following grants and donations: 

  • Land & Water Conservation Fund
  • Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program
  • WA State Youth Athletic Fund
  • The Trust for Public Land / Kaiser Permanente
  • Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation
