City Salary Commission Seeking Members

Apply Now to Help Make a Difference in Lynnwood!

Volunteers

The City of Lynnwood has a new volunteer opportunity! We are currently accepting applications for community members to serve on the newly created Salary Commission. Salaries for elected officials should be adequate, equitable, and fair for those working for the benefit of community members who live, work and play in our City.

The Salary Commission will consist of five members who are tasked with reviewing and discussing current salary and wages of our full-time elected Mayor and part-time elected City Council members. Meetings would be held January through April 2020, as part of developing the City’s biennial budget. The Commission will take into consideration other local municipalities salaries for Council Members and Mayor, and feedback from the elected officials and members of the public through two public hearings. The Commission’s binding recommendations will then be incorporated into the City's budget.

We are looking for interested Lynnwood residents who understand public service, the principles of compensation and the duties and responsibilities of our elected officials.

Interested individuals will need to complete an application form by December 15, 2019. Interviews will begin in mid-December with appointments anticipated in January of 2020.

For more information on the application process or to fill out an application form, visit our Boards & Commissions web page.
