All Bank Robbery Suspects from January Robberies in Custody
LYNNWOOD, WA (January 24, 2018) - Over the past three weeks there were a total of four bank
robberies in Lynnwood. All the suspects believed
to be responsible for those robberies are now in custody. Below is a brief synopsis of those robberies
and arrests:
January 3, 2018 – A Wells Fargo branch in the 6400 blk of
196th St SW was robbed by a subject who claimed to have an explosive
device. That suspect was arrested yesterday by the Snohomish
County Sheriff’s Office after committing a similar robbery just north of the City
of Lynnwood. That suspect, a mid-50’s year
old male, confessed to the Lynnwood robbery after being captured. He has been booked at the Snohomish County
Jail along with an accomplice, who was the getaway car driver.
January 9, 2018 – A Wells Fargo branch in the 2600 blk of
196th St SW was robbed by a subject who passed a note demanding
money and then fled on foot. Lynnwood
officers and detectives identified the suspect and were able to locate him
later that day. He was arrested and
booked at the Snohomish County Jail.
January 18, 2018 – A Wells Fargo branch in the 2600 blk of
196th St SW was robbed by a subject who passed a note demanding
money. The suspect fled but was not
captured. Detectives working the case
were able to link the suspect to an attempted robbery earlier in the day in
Seattle.
January 22, 2018 – A US Bank branch in the 4400 blk of 196th
ST SW was robbed by the same subject from the robbery on January 18, 2018. Lynnwood
detectives were following leads and had identified the subject from these
robberies. That identification was the
result of a tip that came in from a media viewer, who saw the photographs from these
robberies and called Lynnwood detectives.
Detectives were in the process of looking for suspect when
he robbed another bank, in Bellevue, today.
Witnesses told responding officers that the suspect got into a
taxi. The taxi was traced to downtown
Seattle were the suspect was apprehended by Bellevue PD. Bellevue and Lynnwood detectives are
interviewing the suspect and are working together on these cases. The suspect, a
mid-30’s male, will be booked into the King County Jail.
In total there were four bank robberies in the City of
Lynnwood this month. These suspects have
now been taken into custody but the investigations are still ongoing to determine
if anyone else was involved. All suspects
captured have admitted their role in these crimes.
These arrests are the direct result of excellent inter-agency
cooperation along with information from observant community members and
employees, whose leads and actions led to the apprehension of these
