Two Teenagers Struck by Vehicle near 196th and Poplar Way
LYNNWOOD, WA (September 24, 2017) - At about 3:30PM, a vehicle (pickup truck) traveling eastbound on 196th ST SW struck another vehicle that was turning left onto 196th ST SW from northbound Poplar Way. The pickup then skidded into the crosswalk and struck two of three teenagers that were using the crosswalk. Preliminary information is the pickup truck ran a red light.
Eastbound 196th ST SW was closed until a little after 4:00PM due to the collision.
Details on injuries are not known at this time, but the two teenagers that were struck were transported to an area hospital as a precaution. The teens were between the ages of 14 and 16 years old.
Lynnwood traffic officers continue to investigate.
