Lift Station and Force Main 16 Project

ls16 6-1-16

Project will intercept flows that currently flow to Lift Station 10 which is near capacity. The Lift Station site is located just north of 196th Street SW on the west side of 56th Avenue W. The new force main will convey sewage from Lift Station 16 to an existing flow control structure just west of 68th Avenue W and 204th Street SW intersection.

Work this week included, from the week starting May 23:

Force Main: On Thursday, May 26th, the crew performed the grind and overlay on the west segment of 202nd Street, from SR99 to 68th Avenue, and then 68th Avenue West.  This segment, 1,578 feet, was completed in one day.  To date, 3,789 feet of grind and overlay has been completed, which is 56% complete.

Lift Station: Since the building brick veneer was being installed, the JEM crew rough graded the driveways.  Fairweather completed the brick veneer installation on Thursday, May 26th.  The next step in the process was to acid wash the CMU and glass block.  That task was scheduled and completed on Friday, May 27th.  That allowed the CMU and grout to dry for the interior and exterior coatings.  The moisture content will be measured the week of May 30th. The generator was delivered, rigged, and set on Thursday, May 25th.

Next week starting June 1:

Force Main:  Grind and overlay for 202nd Street, east of SR99 to 60th Avenue, and then 196th Street. Traffic may be impacted daily. Traffic controls will be in place.

Lift Station:  The CMU will have interior and exterior building coatings applied.  The pre-rotation basin will be grouted in the wet well.
