Lynnwood City Council Adopts
2015-2020 Economic Development Action Plan
On October 12, 2015, the Lynnwood City Council adopted the 2015-2020 Economic Development Action Plan, Economic Profile and Implementation Matrix; three documents that will guide the economic activities of the City of Lynnwood over the next 5 years.
The Economic Profile details Lynnwood’s economic position relative to other cities in the region. This document will help residents, policymakers, and other stakeholders understand how the trends associated with Lynnwood’s economic position can translate to opportunities.
The Economic Development Action Plan presents Lynnwood’s Vision, Goals and Actions for Economic Development from 2015 through 2020 and beyond, based on the refreshed Economic Profile. These Goals and Actions will enable informed, coordinated policy and programmatic and regulatory decision-making aimed at achieving Lynnwood’s Vision. The Economic Development Action Plan will be used to guide the city’s strategic budget and the work program of the Office of Economic Development in concert with other City departments.

The updated Plan also includes an Implementation Matrix
identifying the various departmental roles and responsibilities involved with implementing
Lynnwood’s Economic Development Action Plan.
The matrix estimates funding levels, priorities, and lead and supporting
roles for implementation of the strategies and actions identified in the
plan.
A citizens group, the Economic Development Advisory Group
(EDAG), was convened by Mayor Smith to guide the update of the Economic Development Action Plan. This was a dedicated group of
community volunteers whose engagement, energy, and enthusiasm were instrumental
in developing the Plan. They worked in
collaboration with the consultant, Community Attributes, Lynnwood boards and
commissions, and city departments to develop this Action Plan to help guide the
city’s future.
