Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Many of you are aware that the Washington Redistricting Commission recently approved new boundaries for the state’s 49 Legislative districts. The 12th District boundaries now reach over the Cascade Mountains into portions of Snohomish and King counties. Following these adjustments, legislative offices had restrictions related to official visits to the new areas until after the November elections. Soon after the elections in mid-November, I visited the communities of Skykomish, Index, Gold Bar, Sultan, Monroe, Carnation, and North Bend. Most of these stops included scheduled meetings with city and school officials, chamber representatives, social service providers, and first responders.

Meeting with these stakeholders was very helpful, but I would also like to connect with a broader range of community members. The cities of North Bend, Carnation, and Monroe are graciously hosting me at their city halls for “Legislative Session Preview” meetings. Meeting details can be found in the graphic below. Each session will last approximately one hour and will include a presentation from me for the first half and then audience participation (questions or issue sharing) for the second half. I look forward to meeting you and learning from you. I hope you can join me at one of the events.

My public service commitment to you

I look forward to getting to know you better at these preview events. If you can’t make it, please know that my philosophy of service is that these positions exist for constituents. I pride myself in being accessible and available to communities – placing district residents first in the legislative process above all else. My office works very hard to represent everyone in the district, regardless of one’s political philosophy. In my office, we emphasize being great listeners, being helpful advocates, and providing excellent customer service.
