Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I am honored to serve you and look forward to returning to Olympia in the new year. The 2023 legislative session begins on January 9 and is scheduled for 105 days. In addition to passing bills, my colleagues and I will approve state budgets for the next two years. To help with the session’s workload, our office is seeking a session aide to be part of our team, which includes me, my legislative assistant, communications staff, and intern. The position begins January 3, 2023 and ends in late April 2023.
 The 2023 Legislative Session begins January 9th. Staff are critical helping me serve you better. My office team will include a full-time legislative assistant, session aide, and Senate intern for the 105-day session. These staff work closely with me and with my communications staff. We currently have an opening for session aide.
2023 Session Aide position available
The session aide will assist our office by tracking legislation, organizing correspondence, answering incoming phone calls, and meeting with constituents. This work will be in-person and based in Olympia. This position provides an excellent opportunity to serve our community and gain valuable work experience. The salary is approximately $3,109/month. As a temporary position, it does not include benefits.
Attention to detail, strong organizational and writing skills, and working calmly under stress are key for this position. Applicants with a four-year college degree are preferred. Work is sometimes required of the session aide in the evenings and occasionally weekends. Our office greatly values the customer service we provide to you, so it is especially important to me that my session aide understands the importance of public service, values the diversity of our district, and maintains a positive attitude when interacting with those we serve.
