The 60-day legislative session is underway. State lawmakers returned to the Capitol on Monday for opening ceremonies, including a speech from the new Speaker of the House Laurie Jinkins in the House chamber. You can watch my floor speech from that day here.
On Tuesday, the governor delivered his annual State of the State address to a joint session of the Legislature. Sen. John Braun provided the Republican perspective. I encourage you to watch it, as he offers a clear contrast and compelling vision for our state.
Safe, affordable and accountable
House and Senate Republicans are working closely together on solutions for our state. This includes legislation focused on safety, affordability and accountability. We discussed some of these ideas at a news conference this week. And we will continue to push for them throughout the legislative session.
