 March 2026
Hello Central Kitsap,
If you’ve been cheered by all the daffodils popping up in Old Town Silverdale, you know that spring has sprung in Central Kitsap! This season brings plenty of opportunities to gather as a community—celebrating the arrival of spring, marking America’s 250th anniversary, and preparing to welcome visitors traveling to our region this summer for the FIFA World Cup in Seattle.
There are many ways to get involved in the weeks ahead. Join us for a free Fix-It Fair, attend the Kitsap Youth Forum, share your feedback on the Rolling Hills Golf Course RFP, or come to our next Central Kitsap Community Council meeting to hear an update on the Silverdale Regional Center Plan. We look forward to engaging with you!

Preparing Kitsap for the summer boom
The FIFA World Cup™ 2026 is expected to bring thousands of visitors to the region, and with them, new economic opportunities.
Olympic College, in partnership with the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance, is offering non-credit classes designed to help entrepreneurial-minded residents explore new opportunities, such as the World Cup.
This April, the college will host an interactive workshop in partnership with the Seattle Rideshare Association. This workshop will provide valuable information on how to drive for Uber and Lyft safely and profitably, especially in preparation for the expected surge in tourism during the summer.

Join us for a free repair event in Seabeck
Kitsap County Solid Waste Division and the Crosby Community Center are hosting a Fix-it Fair in Seabeck! Fix-it Fairs are free community events where you can get your broken belongings repaired by handy local volunteers, meet your neighbors, and learn some repair skills.
When: Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must arrive by 1:30 p.m.
Where: Crosby Community Center, 2135 Christopher Rd NW, Seabeck, WA 98380
Can't make this event? Check out our webpage for other upcoming opportunities and more information.
What broken items can be brought to this event?
Kitsap residents are welcome to bring one or two items per event. Fixers will attempt repairs on one item at a time. If there’s time, you can join the line again with your second item. However, we may limit repairs to one item if the event is busy.
At this event, fixers will attempt to repair:
- mendable clothing and textiles like shirts, jackets, tablecloths, jeans, and more (sorry, no zippers)
- small household appliances like lamps, vacuums, toasters, and more!
RSVP requested
Let us know what you're bringing so our fixers can prepare. This is not an appointment and is not required. All of our events are first-come, first-served.
Get ready!
After you RSVP, get your broken items ready for the event. Before visiting the Fix-it Fair, please:
- clean your item(s)
- bring any instructions or manuals
- purchase and bring your repair part, if you know what part is needed. If you don’t know, that’s okay! Fixers at the event can help you know which parts are needed. We'll have some small parts available at the event, but you’ll need to buy special parts. You may need to return to a future event to finish the repair.

Love to golf? Kitsap County Parks is seeking public feedback on Rolling Hills Golf Course
Kitsap County Parks is inviting the public to share feedback about Rolling Hills Golf Course and its future.
We want to better understand how the community uses all of the facilities today and what improvements or priorities matter most to you moving forward.
As part of this process, the County is using a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to explore options for future operations and help guide next steps.
Community input plays an important role in shaping what comes next. If you have questions or would like to share your thoughts, we encourage you to reach out to parksplanning@kitsap.gov
