The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) maintains a noxious weed seed and plant quarantine list, which details the species that are prohibited to sell and transport in Washington State. The WSDA is responsible for ensuring compliance with the quarantine list and associated rules. However, the quarantine list is not an exact copy of the State Noxious Weed List, and it takes time for species to be added to the quarantine list. As round leaf bittersweet is not yet on the quarantine list, the WSDA has no enforcement capability in this scenario.

If you come across this newly listed species, please do not purchase, sell, or plant it. State law requires that landowners eradicate any instances of round leaf bittersweet on their property.
Please report any infestations to Kitsap1 or contact us at noxiousweeds@kitsap.gov.
