Elections that impact future property taxes – Remember to vote by November 4, 2025
The Bainbridge Fire Department has a ballot measure proposing a multi-year lid-lift to allow the district to increase their rate to $0.72 per $1,000 of assessed value for taxes to be collected in 2026. Increases for the five subsequent years will be 100% plus the annual percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-W). The rate for collection in 2025 was $0.57 per $1,000 of assessed value. If passed by the voters, it will be an estimated $2,100,000 increase in property tax revenue over the 2025 amount of $7,700,000. Increases to individual property owners will vary, however, a Bainbridge Island property assessed at $1,000,000 would see an estimated $150.00 increase in property taxes for the regular fire levy. The Bainbridge Island School District is requesting an increase to supplement the current enrichment and operations levy approved by the voters for the February 13, 2024, Special Election. If passed by the voters, the approved dollar amounts would be added to the current enrichment and operations levy. $1,103,828 would be added to $12,250,000 for a total of $13,353,828 to be collected in 2026. $1,572,896 would be added to $12,600,000 for a total of $14,172,896 to be collected in 2027. $2,002,902 would be added to $12,950,000 for a total of $14,952,902 to be collected in 2028. The North Mason School District is proposing a renewal levy for educational programs and operations. The district is requesting an amount of $5,577,446 to be collected each year starting in 2026 through 2029. The voter approved amount for collection in 2025 was $3,831,125.
