Make sure your back-to-school routine includes immunizations!

With the first day of school around the corner, now is a great time to make sure your family is caught up on recommended vaccines. 

Immunizations are free for all Washington children younger than 19. Health insurance is not required.

Vaccines are safe and help protect children from a wide range of diseases like measles, mumps, tetanus, chickenpox, whooping cough, and hepatitis. Learn more by visiting our Healthy Kitsap website.

Check which vaccines your child has already had

There are several ways to check you family's immunization records: 

• Contact your family's healthcare provider. 
• Use the MyIR portal to access records online. 
• Visit a local pharmacy or clinic. 
• Contact Kitsap Public Health District:

There are several ways to take care of back-to-school immunizations.  To find an appointment, you can:  Contact your family's healthcare provider. Contact a pharmacy near you.  Contact your school to learn about back-to-school immunization events that might be planned.

DocLuvTheKids Day | Aug. 24

Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) will offer routine immunizations at a back-to-school resource fair hosted by DocLuvTheKids.

Back-to-School Clinics | Sept. 26 and Oct. 17

Kitsap Public Health District is hosting two back-to-school clinics this fall in partnership with Kitsap Community Resources and the state Department of Health's mobile Care-A-Van clinic  Event details: Sept. 26, 2-6 p.m. at the KCR Larry Eyer Head Start, 3691 W Loxie Eagans Blvd., Bremerton Oct. 17, 2-6 p.m. at the Kitsap Community Resources Bremerton WIC, 845 8th St., Bremerton For more information, contact our team at immunizations@kitsappublichealth.org or 360-728-2007.
