Assistant Director-Utilities -

The Assistant Director for the Utilities Division oversees all operations for the Sewer, Stormwater, and Solid Waste Utilities, and provides guidance and leadership to the dynamic, multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in civil engineering, environmental engineering, public administration or closely related field;
- Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in engineering, planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of public or private utility infrastructure and facilities; and
- Three years of managerial experience.
- Any equivalent combination and experience of education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the work.
Senior M&O Manager - Sewer Utility

- Associates Degree in relevant field, Group IV Wastewater Operator's certificate; and
- Five years progressively responsible experience in operations and maintenance of a secondary or tertiary wastewater treatment plant, including 3 years of supervisory experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which is equivalent to 7 years of experience and provides the applicant has the required certification and the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the work.
Capital Project Engineer Supervisor - Storm Water/Solid Waste

Plant Operations (Operator) Supervisor -
$70,408.00 - $99,507.20 Annually

Minimum Requirements
- Group 4 Wastewater Operator Certification ; and six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience as a wastewater treatment plant operator, including one years of supervisory responsibility; OR
- Group 3 Wastewater Operator Certification (as long as you can pass the level 4 certification within 6 months of employment in Washington State); and six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience as a wastewater treatment plant operator, including one years of supervisory responsibility.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
Please note: we accept reciprocity from other states as long as they obtain the Washington State Level 4 Certification within 6 months of employment.
Wastewater Plant Operator (Level I/II/II) -
$58,531.20 - $82,742.40 Annually
The incumbent is responsible for wastewater treatment plant and pump station operation and maintenance. Monitors and makes adjustments to the wastewater treatment process control, operates various equipment for the liquid and solid processes, and perform routine wastewater laboratory tests and analysis. Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of wastewater treatment process equipment.
Minimum Requirement
- One year of treatment plant experience and Group I Wastewater Operation Certification; OR
- Group II Wastewater Operator Certification.

Please note: In order to progress beyond pay grade step 8 of the pay scale an employee must obtain a Group II Wastewater Certification.
Utilities Maintenance & Operations Technician/Specialist -
$22.45 - $37.08 Hourly
Join the Stormwater Utilities team! This is a unique opportunity for individuals to get their foot in the door at the Technician level with one year of experience and train up to the Specialist level. If you already have three years of experience and the required certification, you may be considered at the higher level!
M&O Technician Required Education and Experience $22.45 - $31.73 per hour
- One year of experience in underground utilities, construction, repair, replacement and maintenance, road construction/maintenance or equivalent trade school.
- Valid Washington State driver's license
M&O Specialist Required Education and Experience $26.25 - $37.08 per hour
- Three years of experience in underground utilities, construction, repair, replacement and maintenance, road construction/maintenance; one year of equivalent trade school may substitute for up to one year of experience.
- Valid Washington State Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for the operation of related equipment with Endorsement N or X and air brake restriction removed, Washington State Industrial First Aid/CPR certification, Washington State Traffic Flagging Certification and Erosion and Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead.

Capital Project Manager - Engineering Supervisor - Roads

Join our dynamic team of professionals! The Construction Materials Engineer is responsible for testing, developing, preparing, reviewing and supervising/coordinating the preparation of project related construction engineering products/materials.
Depending on the qualifications successful candidates may be able to be hired into an Engineer 1 position or an Engineer 2 position. Please note: If hired as an Engineer 1 the opportunity to automatically progress into an Engineer 2 is upon receipt of their Professional Engineering (PE) License.
