Shore Friendly Kitsap is excited to introduce our newest team member, Amy Smalley, as our Natural Resources Program Specialist.
Amy Smalley joins us from Washington State University Kitsap Extension, where she coordinated the Water Stewardship Programs. Amy brings a wealth of experience in environmental education and community outreach to our team. Amy is passionate about building human relationships with the natural world, helping people understand their connections with the environment, and how interwoven we are with these valuable ecosystems.
We are excited to embark on this journey with Amy and look forward to all the great things we’ll achieve as a team.

Shore Friendly is Here to Help!
Kitsap County is surrounded by more than 200 miles of marine shoreline. These shorelines are diverse, and highly valuable, playing a vital role in the health of our local ecosystems. Shore Friendly Kitsap provides resources to help shoreline homeowners make a difference in the health of Puget Sound.
Shore Friendly Kitsap has worked with over 150 marine waterfront homeowners empowering them with knowledge to best manage their property. Shore Friendly Kitsap has assisted in the completion of several shoreline restoration projects totaling over 1,200 feet of restored shoreline in Kitsap County.

- Insight into your restoration potential
- Mini grants for qualified shoreline restoration projects
- Project coordination and permitting assistance
- Site assessments from a licensed coastal geologist for eligible shoreline properties
Our goal is to help waterfront landowners make informed, cost effective, and environmentally friendly decisions about shoreline management.
