Congratulations to Kitsap County's 2023 Immunize Washington Award winners

More than 25 Kitsap healthcare organizations were honored for encouraging immunization among their patients. 

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — More than 20 Kitsap County healthcare organizations have been honored with 2023 Immunize Washington Awards, which recognize clinics that support and encourage routine immunization.

The Health Plan Partnership — a cooperative alliance of the state Department of Health, Health Care Authority, Gov. Jay Inslee, and all the major health plans in Washington — presents the award to clinics that achieve an immunization rate of higher than 70% among their patients. Kitsap awardees were highlighted during a Sept. 5 Kitsap Public Health Board meeting.

"We applaud and thank these healthcare providers for championing immunization in our community," Kitsap Public Health District Community Health Director Yolanda Fong said. "I encourage all Kitsap residents to get caught up on vaccines in September, especially as children return to classrooms and the fall season brings increased risk for flu, COVID, and other respiratory illnesses.
