Change of Value Notices Were Mailed
Change of value notices were mailed on June 16th to 27,929 property taxpayers throughout Kitsap County. If you did not receive a value notice your value has likely not changed. The Assessor is required by state law to appraise property at 100% of the market value. These notices are determined based upon values as of January 1, 2023, and will be used to calculate your 2024 property taxes. Click here to view the valuation timeline (PDF).
You can review your value and property characteristics in our parcel details tool.
Check out our 4 minute video that explains the difference in the real estate market's value and our assessed value for tax purposes.
If you disagree with this value, you have 60 days from the date on the notice to file an appeal with the Board of Equalization. We are also available to answer any questions that you may have.
Please Be Kind to Your County Appraisers
Our appraisers are currently performing new construction inspections all over the county. We currently have 122,598 parcels and 9 field appraisers. We cannot make appointments, sometimes we just observe from the road to ensure that nothing has changed since our last visit.
Unlike other county departments we do not drive county cars, our appraisers drive their own personal vehicles with magnetic county signs on the doors. They are equipped with county identification/badges, business cards and hi-visibility yellow vests with the county name & logo.
Please feel free to contact us if you ever want to verify that someone in your area works for our office.
