Kitsap Public Health begins search for its next administrator
Administrator Keith Grellner will retire from the Health District at the end of 2023 after 34 years of service.
KITSAP COUNTY, WA — The Kitsap Public Health Board is recruiting for an administrator to replace Keith Grellner, who will retire at the end of 2023.
Appointed by the Health Board and working collaboratively with the health officer, the administrator oversees the administrative and business functions of the Kitsap Public Health District and serves as the executive secretary for the Board. The Kitsap Public Health District administrator helps guide a dynamic agency of more than 120 professionals and 20 programs dedicated to preventing disease and protecting and promoting the health of all people in Kitsap County.
The administrator is responsible for developing and implementing the District’s annual budget and assists in operationalizing health policy strategies and objectives developed by the Health Board and health officer. The administrator supervises the District’s Administrative Services Division and serves as its director.
Founded in 1947, the Health District is widely recognized for its innovation and commitment quality improvement. In 2015, Kitsap Public Health became one of the first public health agencies in the state to be accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board.
The Kitsap Public Health Board plans to interview finalists for the administrator position in September. If possible, the new administrator will work alongside Grellner for several weeks as he completes his tenure.
