ASSOCIATE / BUDGET ANALYST

Kitsap County Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is looking for an Associate/Budget Analyst to join their team!


Under the direction of the Budget Manager, this position performs professional level financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for assigned departments and offices.  The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing developing and monitoring budgets for assigned departments and offices. Work assignments typically are highly visible and technically complex, have significant financial responsibility, require discretion, and involve collaboration with employing officials and other executive staff.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:    

Budget Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or a closely related field AND
  • Four years of progressively responsible professional or administrative experience in fiscal management or government financial administration OR
  • Any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the work.

Associate Budget Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or a closely related field AND
  • Two years of progressively responsible professional or administrative experience in fiscal management or government financial administration OR
  • Any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the work.

This is a full-time position with a wage scale ranging from $26.35 – $38.02 hourly for the Associate Budget Analyst and $76,201.94 - $97,544.92 yearly for the Budget Analyst. This position offers medical/dental/vision, life insurance, participation in the PERS State Retirement Plan, 11 paid holidays with 2 additional floating holidays per year, 8 hours per month vacation accrual, and 8 hours per month sick leave accrual.
