Kitsap Public Health Board approves environmental health fees for 2023
The adjusted schedule includes increases for Food and Living Environment fees, reductions for onsite sewage system fees.
KITSAP COUNTY, WA — The Kitsap Public Health Board approved an adjusted environmental health fee schedule for 2023 at its Nov. 1 meeting. The updated schedule takes effect Jan. 1.
Environmental health fees are fees charged by the Kitsap Public Health District cover the cost of providing licensing and permitting services for food service establishments, public pools, drinking water wells, onsite septic systems, solid and hazardous waste facilities, and other activities regulated by the District.
Key adjustments approved by the board included:
An overall 6% consumer price index fee increase in the Food and Living Environment (FLE) program.
A specific adjustment to FLE plan review fees.
To address an ongoing FLE program fee deficit, a consumer price index fee increase of 3% to 6% annually for the 2023-2026 fee schedules.
Reductions to the onsite sewage system (septic) installation permit fee and the onsite sewage system annual monitoring and maintenance contract fee.
Other Drinking Water/Onsite Sewage and Solid and Hazardous Waste fees to hold steady at 2022 rates.
Miscellaneous administrative updates to simplify the fee schedule.
