Extended delays at waste facilities until further notice

Recent snow and flooding have blocked trains transporting garbage from Kitsap County to the landfill in Eastern Oregon. As a result, Kitsap County’s four waste disposal facilities are experiencing long lines and waits.

We advise residents and businesses to wait to visit these facilities until further notice. The railroads report that they should resume normal service Monday, January 24.
