2022 DCD Fee Updates

Since 2008, and in accordance with DCD Fee Policies, fees are updated based upon:

• Annual detailed fee analysis, and
• International Code Council (ICC) square foot construction
  costs (Building Valuation Data (BVD) – August edition), and
• ICC Permit Fee Multiplier (PFM) methodology

For 2022, DCD proposed a change to fee policies, enabling the use of the ICC BVD February edition in an effort to increase predictability and reduce volatility in permit fees due to COVID-19 and temporary increases in lumber shortage costs.

The results are:

• 5.58% increase vs. a 19.93% increase in square foot construction costs
• Permit fee multiplier (PFM) increase from 1.74% to 1.94%
• No change to 3% technology fee
