Kitsap at risk of being moved to back to Phase 2 as COVID-19 activity surges
-
Kitsap County remains in Phase 3 of the state’s COVID-19 recovery plan after Gov. Inslee announced a two-week pause on phases Tuesday. This is a great opportunity for Kitsap residents to drive down case rates and hospitalizations locally by getting vaccinated and continuing to wear masks, avoid indoor gatherings, and taking other precautions.
-
COVID-19 vaccines work! About 67% of Kitsap residents 65 or older have received at least one dose of vaccine. The rate of COVID-19 cases reported among residents 65 or older is now just one-fifth the rate among those ages 15-34. Cases at long-term care facilities have declined dramatically (see the chart below). We want adults of all ages to benefit from the same protection by getting vaccinated.
-
Vaccination appointments are no longer required and walk-ins are welcome at a growing number of sites in Kitsap, including all Kitsap Public Health District clinics. You can still schedule an appointment for our clinics at kcowa.us/vaccine, or by calling 360-728-2219 (360-828-2218 for Spanish).
