All adults become eligible for vaccination Thursday; COVID-19 variants gaining momentum
-
Starting April 15, everyone 16 and older is eligible to get off the bench and into the game by getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Now is the time to take your shot, and encourage others to take theirs, so we can claim victory over this virus. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccination at covidvaccinewa.org and find outreach materials at kcowa.us/covid19 toolkit
- COVID-19 variant strains — predominantly the B.1.1.7 variant — have become a main driver of new COVID-19 cases nationwide and are gaining momentum in our region. Vaccination is an effective weapon for slowing COVID-19, but measures like masking, distancing and frequent handwashing remain vital.
- More than 100 COVID-19-associated deaths have been reported in Kitsap County since the start of the pandemic. This sad milestone is a reminder of why we are working so hard as a community to curb the spread of the virus and make vaccinations available to all.
- With the variant strains spreading through our communities, it’s more important than ever to get tested for COVID-19. Get tested if you feel sick, or think you might have been in close contact with someone COVID-19. Stay apart from others while you await your results. Find testing information at kcowa.us/covid19
