All adults will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination on April 15. Here is what you need to know...
- Beginning April 15, all Washington residents 16 or older will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.
- Tens-of-thousands of Kitsap residents are eligible to get vaccinated before April 15.
- The state's Phase Finder tool has been retired, but vaccination phases are still in effect.
- Find information about eligibility and how to get vaccinated at covidvaccinewa.org
Gov. Jay Inslee announced this week that beginning April 15, all Washington residents 16 or older will be eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
This is good news. It means that more than 200,000 people in our community will have the opportunity to get vaccinated against COVID-19, preventing countless hospitalizations, saving lives, and bringing us closer to ending this devastating pandemic.
However, while vaccine allocations have gradually increased, there will not be enough vaccine available on April 15 for everyone to get a shot immediately. People will need to be patient and persistent as they look for vaccination appointments. Vaccine supplies will continue to grow this spring and everyone who wants a vaccine will be able to get one.
ONE THIRD OF KITSAP ADULTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN VACCINATED
Thanks to the diligence of healthcare professionals and volunteers across our county, we've already made great progress getting Kitsap residents vaccinated. We still have a long way to go to immunize the majority of our community members.
- As of March 29, about 73,400 Kitsap residents 16 or older (34%) had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
- That leaves an estimated 131,000 Kitsap residents 16 or older who have not yet received a shot.

Who can get vaccinated before April 15?
Tens of thousands of Kitsap residents are already eligible to get vaccinated. The state expanded vaccination eligibility on March 31 to include more groups (Phase 1b, Tiers 3 &4):
- Everyone 60 years old or older.
- Everyone 16 or older with two or more co-morbidities or underlying health conditions.
- People who live, work, or volunteer in certain congregate settings, such as correctional facilities, group homes for people with disabilities, and centers where people experiencing homelessness live or access services.
- People working in restaurants, food services, construction, and manufacturing.
- Everyone already eligible under previous phases (Phase 1a and Phase 1b, Tiers 1-2).
- Find full eligibility guidance here.

Phase Finder has been retired
The state Department of Health has retired its Phase Finder tool (findyourphasewa.org), which helped residents determine what phase of vaccination they qualified for. Here are some important points to know:
-
A Phase Finder verification is no longer required for vaccination, but vaccination phases are still in effect. Please review the phase guidance available at covidvaccinewa.org to determine if you are currently eligible for vaccination. Call 1-800-525-0127 for assistance.
-
If you are currently eligible, you should book the first vaccination appointment available to you.
-
If you do not yet qualify, please do not book an appointment earlier than April 15. By waiting your turn, you will help ensure vaccination appointments are available for people in our community who are at high risk from COVID-19.
-
If you completed Phase Finder and signed up for a notification, you will still be notified when you are eligible for vaccination. If you are older than 16 and haven't been notified yet, you will be notified on April 15.
Supporting equitable access
As COVID-19 vaccination eligibility expands to include more groups, Kitsap Public Health District remains committed to ensuring access for people who already qualify for vaccination under earlier phases, including seniors 65 or older.
We are reserving a portion of our appointments each week for people who do not have internet, are not able to use an online registration form, or have other barriers to getting vaccinated. Our team will fill these appointments by calling people who have reached out to us for assistance or have been referred to us by community organizations.
GETTING HELP BY PHONE
People who do not have computer access or are not able to use an online registration system can call us at 360-728-2219 (360-728-2218 for Spanish) and leave a message. Our team will reach out as appointments become available at our clinic.
