Changes Coming to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Express Lane

In order to improve customer service to our residents, an express lane has been added at the facility for customers who have limited items to drop off.

Customers with five items or less may use the express lane for a quicker trip in and out.

Lunch Closure

Starting February 1, 2021, the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will be closed 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. for lunch. The facility continues to be open to residents Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, beginning in February, the facility will close at noon for half an hour to allow time for staff to take lunch.

When an Appointment is Required

Scheduled appointments make your visit faster and easier. An appointment is needed when the following applies:

Large residential loads require a scheduled appointment. Large loads are more than 50 containers, loads over 50 gallons total, or containers larger than 5 gallons.

Potentially dangerous loads also require an appointment. These include laboratory chemicals, unknown chemicals, or containers that are old, dangerous, or about to fall apart.

Request a residential appointment online or call Kitsap1 at 360-337-5777 during regular business hours. Residents do not need an appointment to drop off small amounts of common household hazardous waste (light bulbs, cleaners, batteries, paint, etc.).

Businesses and organizations who qualify as a small quantity generator must also schedule a disposal appointment. Visit our site to see if you qualify and make an appointment for a business or organization.
