Free flu clinics open this week throughout Kitsap County

Kitsap Public Health offers a series of free flu vaccine clinics this month in partnership with community organizations across the county. These clinics are open to people 19 and older who do not have insurance or whose insurance doesn't cover the vaccine. See the schedule below or click here (available in English and Spanish).

If you have insurance or need flu vaccines for children, call your regular health care provider or go to www.vaccinefinder.org. In Washington state, flu vaccinations are available to those 18 and younger at no cost.

This year, it is especially important to get a flu vaccine and take steps to protect yourself and your family from respiratory infections. An annual flu vaccine is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and older.

The first case of influenza in Kitsap County was reported last weekHealth experts warn the presence of both influenza and COVID-19 this fall and winter could increase people’s risk for severe illness and put a strain health care services.

During the flu season, the Kitsap Public Health District provides a weekly report that summarizes influenza activity in Kitsap County and maintains a flu page with local data and resources here.
