It's that time of year, bring on the home improvement projects!
As you plan your projects this spring and summer keep the following in mind:
Safety, Safety, Safety!
- A clean, well-lit work space is a safe work space
- Wear eye protection
- Wear the right safety equipment for the job
- Store power tools, sharp tools or dangerous materials on high shelves or in a locked storage cabinet out of a child's reach
- If you're tackling outdoor home improvement projects, make sure extension cords are rated for outdoor use
- Use a ladder only on a stable and level surface, unless it has been secured (top or bottom) to prevent displacement

Building permits are very beneficial to you, your family and your community. By working with code officials, you will benefit from their knowledge about building codes to ensure your project is done correctly, meets safety requirements and will last!
