Now accepting membership applications for the Kitsap Food Advisory Council
The Kitsap Public Health District's Food Safety Program (KPHD) is in the process of developing their first Kitsap Food Advisory Council (KFAC). KFAC is a partnership between volunteer industry and public representatives, as well as food safety inspectors from the Health District.
The Council’s mission is to promote food safety in Kitsap County through:
Improved relations between the Health District, food service industry, and the public.
Policy and procedures review, evaluation, and development.
Development of educational materials.
Advisement to the Health District on food service industry issues affecting public health.
Input on fee schedules.
Discussion of current or emerging food safety concerns.
Once the Council is established, members will meet about twice per year. Two special meetings will occur in March to gain input from members and finalize the bylaws that will govern KFAC and to determine a regular meeting schedule.
KPHD is now accepting membership applications for those interested in joining the Council. Members are dedicated stakeholders of the public and food service industry. KFAC will strive to include members from a variety of backgrounds to represent the community. First review of applications will occur on March 4, 2019, so be sure to get your applications in before then!
