Kitsap County District Court has launched two new features on their webpage. The public can now access all District Court criminal case records online. Using the Search Documents feature on the eCourt webpage allows searches by Name or Case number. In addition, the Court is now publishing their Daily Calendar online which gives the public a "live" daily look at what cases are being held in each of the courts.
Being able to search public cases online has been a goal of the Court for some time. "The District Court is responsible for creating, preserving and protecting the public records that come from its proceedings," said Clint Casebolt, District Court Administrator, "Making these records available online represents a huge step forward in transparency and accessibility of the District Court. Having these records and our calendar online will eliminate the need for many to come to the courthouse to view these public records," Casebolt added.
