Advisory lifted for eastern Kitsap and Bainbridge Island shorelines
Advisory
for Mosher Creek in East Bremerton also lifted
KITSAP
COUNTY, WA —The Kitsap Public Health District has lifted the no-contact
advisory for the eastern shoreline of Bainbridge Island, including all bays
& inlets, and the eastern shoreline of Kitsap County between Jefferson
Point and Restoration Point, including Port Madison Bay. The
shellfish harvesting closure issued by the Washington State Department of
Health for the same area remains in effect.
Additionally,
the District has lifted the no-contact advisory for Mosher Creek that has been
in effect since Jan. 30 after a sewage spill occurred at a pump station that is
under construction.
Signs at public access points along the affected areas will be removed within
the next day.

During a no-contact advisory, the public
is advised to avoid contact with the water in the affected area. This
means no swimming, wading, or types of water recreation or play where water
could be swallowed or get in the mouth, nose or eyes. People should also
avoid direct skin contact if possible, and immediately wash with soap and water
if they have exposure to the water. A “frequently asked questions” document about
