Reminder - Community Planning Day tomorrow (Saturday, June 8 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.):
City of Kirkland leaders have launched an ambitious and inclusive public involvement campaign, “Kirkland 2035: Your Voice. Your Vision. Your Future.,” as a way to listen to ideas from community members about the future of the City. Several long-range and strategic plans are being updated and developed that will shape Kirkland’s future in land use, housing, transportation, parks, and the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Bring your children – for the fun children activities.
Highlights:
Neighborhood University Session (Neighborhood U) –“Growth Management – what does it mean for Kirkland’s future” 10:30-11:30 in the City Council Chambers. Norm Storme, Kirkland Alliance of Neighborhoods Coordinator and the Planning Department are pleased to announce that Joe Tovar will be the guest speaker. Joe has extensive experience in public policy, drafting and interpreting the Growth Management Act, writing award-winning city plans, development codes, and strategies, and helping build quality communities in Kirkland, Shoreline and Covington. Joe has over 20 years of service as a City Planning Director.
Town Hall Meeting with the City Council – “Making business districts work for you.” 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
Join the conversation about Cross Kirkland Corridor - The Cross Kirkland Corridor’s Master Plan process kicks-off on Saturday, June 8 at the citywide Planning Day event at Kirkland City Hall… and we need to hear from you! Get on-board with the project and journey down a corridor of interactive and family-friendly activities—all designed to receive your input and feedback along the way! Project representatives will be at your side to discuss the project and answer your questions. Bring your ideas for the future design of the Cross Kirkland Corridor! See you there! |
