Morris is ancient dance style danced by men in the villages of England to celebrate the spring. Don’t miss the MossyBack Morris Men as they dance around Kirkland in the merry month of May. The sound of clashing sticks and the jingle of bells make this an amazing performance not to be missed. Look for them around town. _____________________________________
Join us for a fun evening of contra dances (social dance originally from New England) including a few circle and square dances. For this month, we’ll have a pair of musicians that have made many contributions here in the Northwest. Laurie Andres (accordion) and Sandy Bradley (guitar) will join caller Laura Me’ Smith. Walk-through provided for every dance. Attending with a partner is not necessary. Beginner instruction at 7:30 PM with dance beginning at 8:00 PM. Held every Mother’s Day weekend, the self-guided Kirkland Artist Studio Tour (KAST) is now in its tenth year. Artists will be hard at work at studios and galleries around town. A variety of mediums will be represented, including jewelry, glass art, paintings, ceramics, photography, garden art, and printmaking. You can visit with the artists and catch a glimpse into the creative process, purchase art directly from the artist, or just soak up the inspiration. _____________________________________
