Kirkland Business Roundtable invites business input on Cross Kirkland Corridor Master Plan

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Kirkland Business Roundtable invites businesses in Kirkland to its spring meeting on May 14, 2013 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Eastside Tennis Center, 10822 117th Place NE. Businesses will have the opportunity to help shape the Cross Kirkland Corridor Master Plan, and by virtue of their attendance, will become members of the Cross Kirkland Corridor Founders Club, a business group that supports the corridor development.   Please RSVP at www.ckcmasterplan.eventbrite.com for call the Office of Economic Development at 425-587-3014.

Highlights of the meeting will include welcome and updates by Mayor Joan McBride and City Manager Kurt Triplett. Lisa Picard, Executive Vice President and Regional Manager SKANSKA, USA will describe her experience developing a building adjacent to the Burke-Gilman Trail and the benefits that a corridor can offer businesses and investors. The Berger Partnership, consultants on the Cross Kirkland Corridor, will present some early concepts for the corridor. Following these presentations, stations staffed by Berger, City of Kirkland, and the Urban Land Use Leadership in Sustainability Team will capture input from businesses on the corridor plan, plan for Totem Lake, Comprehensive and Transportation Plan updates and other planning efforts underway.

The meeting is hosted by the Eastside Tennis Center, an indoor public tennis center owned and operated by the nonprofit TOPS. The venue was chosen because it backs on the Cross Kirkland Corridor and will someday be the safe way for children to access tennis lessons and other activities after school.
