City of Kirkland Police Department Contact: Lieutenant John Haslip December 21, 2012 “Longboarder” burglar arrested with aid of “Most Wanted” and Crime Stoppers tips KIRKLAND, Wash.- On November 13, 2012, a male suspect forcibly entered a residence located in the 14100 Block of 107th Ave. NE in Kirkland, Washington during a short time frame the owner was away. The suspect stole electronics, jewelry and property valued in excess of $4,900. The owner had installed video cameras at the home which recorded much of the suspect’s criminal act. Thanks to a recent broadcast by local television station KCPQ (Q-13 Fox) of the “Washington’s Most Wanted” series and other local news affiliates, the burglary suspect was identified and is behind bars. On December 20, 2012 Bellevue Police Officers and Detectives, assisting Kirkland Police Detectives in their investigation, arrested a 42 year old male suggested by the anonymous tipsters via Crime Stoppers. The suspect is being booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Residential Burglary and First Degree Theft. “Kirkland Detectives wish to thank the local media, particularly Q13’s Washington’s Most Wanted and Crimes Stoppers and most importantly the citizens who called in valuable tips leading to the identification of the suspect in this case,” notes Lieutenant John Haslip, Kirkland Police Department. Also instrumental in the case was the Bellevue Police Department and its Special Enforcement Team who provided assistance in making the apprehension of the suspect.
